I have a Power Horse log splitter that I am adding to a Kubota 7510 HSD that already has a 272 loader.

I'm pretty handy so doing the work is no big deal. Learning hydraulics is another thing.

The tractor had rear remotes and I though I could remove the controls and reuse the hoses, however, that's when I began to learn about the "power beyond" port.

I think I understand that the power beyond port provides high pressure beyond the first set of controls?

Is that correct?

So it acts like a series circuit, I assume.

The rear remotes had 3 hoses going to it, power beyond port from the front loader, return, and one that went to the hydraulic port on the tractor.

Now the hydraulic port on the tractor has one called power beyond and one call the pump port, not sure what the rear remote was plugged into.

Now, how do I install the Power Horse splitter that only has an IN and OUT port?

Dan, welcome to TBN. Maybe I'm a bit confused, but why don't you use the remote hydraulics instead of removing it? It would seem to me that the remote connection would be easiest. I use the remotes on my tractor for my log splitter and just bungee the remote full open after attaching the log splitter. That allows me to use the valve on the log splitter normally and gives me an extra point to cut off flow in case something starts leaking on the splitter. I believe with your tractor, you may find hydraulic flow is the primary limitation and will effect the log splitter's speed of operation.

Never thought of that. Although I have no plans to use this tractor with the rear remote.

I am looking for a simple way to use quick connectors for the log splitter.

I found this:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/hydraulics/128240-need-help-rear-hydrulic-lines.html

So if I connect from the PB port on the loader to the IN port on the splitter, where do I connect the out port to? The Return? I understand I would have to connect the connections together when not using the splitter.

Also, would I still be able to raise and lower the 3 point when the splitter is connected?

Dan

You are adding the valve in "series". The OUT would go will go to where the PB port is connected now. You are just adding the splitter valve in series on the PB line from the FEL valve. The 3 PH will still work.

You can look at other threads on Power Beyond, as it's the same concept no matter which model it' on.

I like Jinmans idea better though...plug the splitter in and bungee the handle, doesn't get much simpler than that!

Pictures of your current valve setup may help us give you other options as well.
