Hi I just got a XJ2025h and was wondering if i should get an aftermarket cutting edge to add on to the loader bucket? I have heard that it keeps bucket from getting the smiley face and adds significant life to bucket. I stretched to buy the tractor so i dont want to be replacing a bucket anytime soon. Any suggestions/comments?

I added one to mine immediately, and I am glad that I did.

It certainly reduces smiley face a lot, and if you allow the front lip of the bucket to bend significantly, putting one on can be a lot harder than if you do it while the bucket is new and straight.

I put a tooth bar on my bucket as soon as I got the tractor. Never had problems with smiley faces - the tooth bar helps loosen soil during shallow digs and helps break up clods when back dragging to smooth/level areas. Besides it makes the bucket look "real mean" when I'm out working with the tractor at the end of the driveway where it meets the county road. Anything to help some of the "wild child" drivers slow down.

The bucket has a different life with a heftier cutting edge, skid shoes underneath and the leading edge of the bucket reinforced with cutting edge.

Cutting edge comes in different size's so make sure you go heavier and leave about an inch extended at each end. Makes for better cutting/catching stuff like roots or garage doors.

I put a tooth bar on mine. What a difference moving gravel and even hard packed snow.!

I highly recommend installing one on your bucket. It really strengthens the bucket to keep away from the smiley face. I did mine after the first year on my B2650 to keep the bucket in good shape as I do all of my snowplowing with it. It is best to do it before it gets too bad. The other plus is if you wear out the new cutting edge, you can just spin it 180 degrees and use the other side.

Yes to edge; will save from damage to the factory edge, and strengthens the bucket due to added rigidity.

Does anybody have a good brand/place for me to start my search?

Either DIY,, or there are many tooth bars,,,
I used a CAT skidsteer bucket bolt-in toothbar.
It dramatically strengthened my bucket.

I would recommend the Piranha tooth bar. It gives additional strength in addition to increased "bite".
