ADAPTING A CRAFSMAN 40'' AND 44'' SNOWBLOWER ON JOHN DEERE LAWN TRACTOR 100 SERIE

the job is already done but want to share my experience on adapting craftsman snowblower models C151611731 and C151611741 on John Deere 100 series
first : measurement and fitting
2nd : three major modification in total to be done, on the tractor, and on the sub-frame of the snowblower
3rd: adding counter weight on the back
to do this you need some pieces of flat steel 1/4''x3'' thick and 7.5' of 1' square tube 1/16 and 1/2'' x7.5'' square rod, and a dose of patience

I removed the front holding mower bracket and the muffler protector.welded a holding brackets together and a square pipe to hold the front snowblower frame, the frame's rod passes through the pipe, add 1/4 '' spacer under the two idler grooved pulley, to put in line the belt between the engine pulley and the idlers one, add a belt tensioner as mentioned on the picture, adjusted the belt tension when the snowblower is down because its the position where the belt tension is at it's lower level, it' very important to have a spring in the belt tensioner, it helps to put the tension at constant level without damaging other components.

Does sound like the blower is turning too fast just by the sound of the impeller fan. You may have reduced bearing life but it does throw the white stuff! How does it do with the wet stuff?

i have sprayed a vegetable oil on the chute and the impeller heavy snow doesn't sticks on

Cool video, man that thing slings the snow. I recently purchased a john deere snow blower to go on my craftsman tractor. I have'nt really looked at how to get it to hook up to the motor, not sure what fab work I will have to do.

i didn't see how the pulley are positioned on john Deere snowblower but you can fit your JD snowblower on your craftsman tractor it's the same engineering i can send you a craftsman how to brackets holder and you can adapt yours on it, take a look at this JD parts catalog find your snowblower model and try to take measurement considering your belt length, and your clutch lever here is the link: you can try 155C and you can see how the brakets are made then you can weld some pieces of steel that's it

This is awesome, I just picked up my first lawn tractor, jd lt133. Went to some garage sales today and an old timer gave me a craftsman blower attachment for free! I hope your still around when I get to this project so I can pick your brain. ��
