John Deere 790 (sold)
It’s been awhile since my last post, but I finally decided to step up to a 790. My X595 SE has treated me well, but the jobs were taking too long with a garden tractor.

So my old friend is leaving along with the 45 FEL, MMM, 48”BB and tiller. I have a feeling I will miss that comfy seat!

But the good news is my new baby should be ready in a week or so. My package includes a 790 4X4 with R4 tires, 300 FEL, iMatch, LX5 and a Frontier BB2060.

I can hardly wait, man that 790 sounds good! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The wait is killing me!! My dealer thought he would have it to me tonight but one of the mechanics called in sick today. I went in and visited all of the parts, kicked the tires and sat in the seat just waiting for the real fun to begin. The bad part is he might be able to get it to me tomorrow (Saturday)…
That’s bad because that would infringe upon my fifth year wedding anniversary!! Therefore I will probable not get it until Tuesday or Wednesday, but here’s to hopping for Monday!!!

I would keep your seat from the SE and put it on the 790. Buy a standard seat to put on your SE before you trade it in. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

When I first got my 990 I tried to put an X series standard seat in place of the standard black one. The mounts where the seat hinges are basically the same but the plunger does not hit the bottom of the seat when the seat is folded down for driving. I ended up returning the seat but it could probably be easily modifided to work.

Unless you were talking about swaping the seat suspension and seat. I did like the armrests I put on my 4300.

I received my new baby on Thursday night (3 days ago) and I have to admit, I’m very impressed!! I was expecting some improvement over my X595 but this is more like a giant leap not just a step up. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I expected my mowing time to increase because I was going from a MMM with a 62” cut and a hydro transmission to a non-synchronized transmission and a rear mount 60” cut rotary cutter. Imagine my surprise when I finished almost two hours quicker with the 790!! I guess it has to do with the larger tire size and my very rough lawn.

It’s really not fair to compare the 45 FEL to the 300 FEL but I will anyway. If you look at just the specification differences you would expect to see the workability factor to double. In reality I see and feel as though it’s more like a 3 times improvement. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would say that there was a factor of 5 times workability factor between the John Deere 48 BB to the Frontier BB 2060!

I absolutely love the iMatch! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

All I need to do now is find that confounded cable for my digital camera… /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I'm considering a bb2060, would you give me a heads up on pricing please. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
