I've got about 27 hrs on my 6284.
Cub suggests changing the hydro and hydraulic filters at the first 25 hrs. Got that taken care of.
Then I move on the the engine oil and found several "oddities".
The manual says to leave the engine oil in for 200 hrs. I've always thought it best to get the oil out of a new engine relatively soon. (mfg. debris in the engine ?) So I changed it.
The strange part is that the "capacity" is listed as 5 qt. with the filter. After draining the oil ( it was a little over the full line on the stick before starting), I noticed there was nowhere near 5 qt. the the pan. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif 'More like 3.75 qts.
So I head for the house to take another look at the manual. (my eyes aren't that good anymore) Yep, the chart I looked at says 5 qt. but on the engine spec page it says from 3.6 - 5.2 qt. max. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Long story short, I put in a little over 3.5 qt and that brought it right to the full line on the stick...
Just thought I'd share the experience and I have no idea why there's such a "range" ?
