Kubota BX2680
I bought a new 2017 BX2680 with the front end loader and belly deck. I have had it a few months and finally decided to unhook the loader to try out how to do it. It was a little tricky to reattach it. It has an entire manifold that unhooks and hooks the 4 hoses in one shot. The problem I have is that after I got it put back on i am having a hydraulic fluid leak. I had to put a few quarts of udt back into the tractor and currently have it unhooked. It seems to be just a pressure connection with two flat metal plates that are kept together with the locking lever. Is there something I am doing wrong or lost?

I'm not familiar with the manifold connection but I would check to make sure an o-ring was not dislodged etc...

Make sure you de-pressurize the hydro to the FEL before removing it. Possible that it isn't fully seating due to residual pressure--Just a guess. Leaving the loader out in the blazing sun also causes increased pressure and difficulty re-attaching the lines.

I watched a Messick's video about unhooking and connecting the FEL. I disconnected the loader and let the Tractor sit over night to see if by any chance the leak was not in the connection. I was sure to move the hydraulic lever in all directions after the tractor was turned off to relieve pressure as suggested above and also in the video. No leaks the next morning. Made sure to wipe down all the surfaces of the connection on both the FEL and the tractor and hooked it back up. I used it a bit and put it up. Again I relieved pressure after lowering the bucket and turning off the tractor. The next day, no leaks under the tractor. So other newbys take a look at the video before you unhook the loader.

Good advice.
