Got up about 6:30 yesterday. Was in town before 7:15 to do the Christmas shopping for my wife. Was done shopping and back home before 9:15. Since it was too cold to work on the garage/pole barn I decided since the ground had frozen I would bush a section of our land that I have a hard time getting because of staying so wet. Started the tractor up and let it warm up since it is sitting under the half of my garage with a roof (well sheeting) without sides. A piece of tar paper had blown up so while the tractor was warming up I cute a piece of tar paper to fix that. I was then able to bundle up pretty good and start bushhogging. We were supposed to get a little bit of snow (<4") but I knew even with that little amount I couldn't go to this area. Here is a picture of part of the area after I had hogged it.

Another shot of the area that I had cut. The house up on the hill is my neighbor's. For long time going out on the road and coming down the hill was the only access I had to this property. I believe his and his son's septic systems coming down this hill are part of why my land stays so wet through here.

A sure sign that you have a drainage problem.

Another reason it is wet. This is the drainage ditch for the highway. The state run the water from both sides of the hill to this one side to run down to the creek about 1/4 mile down the road.

Now for the bad. This is aftershot of what happens when only the top of the ground is frozen and it isn't quite strong enough to support a small tractor. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any actual action shots or burial as I was too worried about the recovery operation.

A look at the rear. Lost some of the mud though as once I got it out, I continued hogging and the trip back down the road to the driveway also slung most of it off of the tires and on to me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Looks like it's time now to jump over to the "Do you wash your tractor?" thread... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The Left front. I think I have some lugnuts in there somewhere - though maybe not as this is the tire that has fallen off before. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is the right rear. When it first came up and out all four wheels looked like this one. Yes the little thing was spinning all four and trying to pull with the load. Just couldn't get enough of a bite with the loader. It just keep pushing dirt back to the front of the tractor actually burying it deeper.
