1) Ignoring all of the obvious safety violations, has anyone ever tried to rig a passenger seat? Or any safe ways of carrying a passenger other than adding a seat? Please control yourself and try not to post any remarks about how a man would have to be stupid to try...it's a given LOL.
2) This has one of the worst manuals I can imagine for a complicated piece of machinery. As far as I can tell, as I don't see it in the manual, anywhere on Google, nor by looking at the seating itself, but is there anyway to recline the backrest? It's way too straight for me and it feels very awkward and pushes me towards the front which I do not like.
3) Ran a KX 41 most of my life and assumed the 71 would be noticeably more powerful. I am let down. But because I haven't had it long enough to give her a true test i'll withhold my opinion on that officially for another couple months as I haven't had the opportunity to actually dig with it yet I'm just spreading gravel right now. But my question is, it seems to be very unbalanced to me! I'm using a 4 foot flat dozer blade right now (LOVE IT) and haven't even used the 2 foot bucket and if I have the cab perpendicular to the tracks and pick up a load with the arm more than halfway extended, the entire thing tips over!!!
Now we are not talking a lot of weight here, it's not like I'm trying to pick up a massive Boulder. The amount of gravel that I can get on the flat portion of the blade is easily equal to the same amount I will fit inside of a 2 foot bucket and I don't see any reason at all that it should be tipping over. Or better said, the KX 41 would never tip in that same position.
I am a contractor as well as a homeowner with land but, I haven't had a lot of experience operating others, but there have been a dozen or so times I have operated full size units as well. And this is the very first time I have ever run into an issue with unit tipping over when trying to pick up a "standard, normal" every day load on an excavator, be it a mini or full-size, without grabbing onto a stump and pulling myself purposely!
In everyone else's experience, is this normal or should this be normal?? I say gravel but it's actually base, or crusher run as some people call it!
4) And last question
The little button that you push to operate the hydraulic thumb, not on the handle but the actual display to activate the hydraulic fluid. When I push it once, light comes on and it works. But sometimes when I push it again, it goes off and sometimes it blinks and I have to hit it again to turn it off. What does the blinking mean?
Thanks everyone and I appreciate everybody's time in answering any of the above questions! Try not to draw a conclusion about me by that first one... LOL.
