I remember watching my Uncles doing the very same thing over 60 years ago. Onliest difference, either my Uncles were poor shots, or the cats weren't big league catchers.

Sounds familiar...I think my Granddad's milk bowl may have been a drip pan out of an old ice box or some such...it was some sort galvanized nondescript vessel.
