A/C stopped working

Hi,

My AC stopped working on my LS XR4140 tractor, and I'm looking for some help. The compressor appears not to be getting power. With AC switch on, the compressor is off. Here is what I have tried so far:

Fuses Good.
AC Pressure(s) Good.
Direct 12v to the compressor, which engages it and blows cold air into the cabin.
OHMS within spec on the pressure switch.

If anyone has a service manual for the XR41XX that would be fantastic as well. Any insight is appreciated!

Sometimes the thermostat under the roof fails, and sometimes the compressor gets power but is not getting a good ground through the mounting bracket.

Years ago, my tractor was an LG47 (LG of course now known as LS) and it's AC stopped producing cold air, as the compressor clutch was not pulling in. I put a multimeter on the connector and yep - 12 volts. So what gives?

Turns out there was voltage getting through to the connector, but not a good enough circuit to pass the required power - not even enough to light the bulb in the tester pen I had. Turned out to be a dodgy connection further up the line somewhere, but can't remember exactly where the issue was. (It was maybe 15 years ago...)

Also, in addition to the ground, check the main 100Amp fuse off the + post for corrosion as well as the upstream 50Amp fuses. I was having intermittent starts due to that, & was only getting 5v to the fuse panel ... maybe the AC clutch is acting the same. manual is too big to post, but pm me an e-mail & I can try to send you what I got. Warning ... you'll need big e-mail size limits. one of the files is 224 MB, the other is 161MB
