990 3 pt. noise

Hi, has anyone heard a noise when raising the 3 point hitch under load? Its like a squeak type sound and I think it only makes the sound before normal operating temp. My 4300 had the same sounding noise. Thanks for any help.

Hi

I bought a 990 last week and love it. I have the ballast box on the back filled concrete and rocks. I would guess it weighs between 300 and 400 lbs. I haven't noticed any noise while lifting it, but it is pretty new yet. I'll try and play with it tomorrow and see if I notice anything unusual.

It sounds like you believe the squeak is from the hydraulics as opposed to a mechanical sound, since you mentioned it only does it cold.

My 2210 makes a hyd squeal when picking up something heavy.

Yeah, its like a hydraulic squeal but it only lasts a second or two. Maybe cause the mower weighs 700 pounds like Hambone said. Thanks.
