Tractor
New Holland T1530
I bought a T1530 tractor a year ago. Took 10 months for the 930GH hoe to get here. Wasn't too worried because I had an accident and couldn't use it anyway, but when I got it (2 months ago) I was ready to go! The second time I used it I snagged a tree root about 2" in dia. It came through it ok but broke a tooth off the bucket and also took a chunk out of the bucket. Ordered new bucket (which should be under warranty) and still don't have it.
Guess my question is: (1) is that a problem with those buckets (12") that N.H. uses or did I just get a bad one? (2) is there anyone who makes buckets to fit the 930GH besides N.H. They seem to have a supply problem when it comes to those backhoes. I probably wouldn't have the hoe yet if I hadn't called the Customer Service 4 times. I've already called them on the bucket and will have to call again I'm sure. Seems everything is always about 3 week out. And that's every time I talk to them. Love the hoe and tractor, both are excellent, but seem to have trouble getting anything from them that pertains to the hoe.

I have been out of the NH business for 10 years now, but generally, those buckets are not very heavy duty. CUT backhoe buckets are not very well stocked and are usually bulit to order. That explains the 3 week lead time. With that said, however, your dealer should be the one calling customer service and getting the bucket moving along, not you.
I can't comment on the warranty as I don't know what it looks like and would not like to put the dealer in a corner playing armchair quarterback. Also, those buckets cost as much or more than those for commercial units. You need to find out now whether it is warrantable or not AND why can't it be repaired by replacing the cutting edge and welding the tooth shanks to it. Might be cheaper. Also, if NH is going to warranty, they will warranty this route, but not complete replacement.

Ok! Thanks for the feed back. I know the dealer has called several times. Was there when he called for hoe, and once on the bucket. I have no problem with him. Seems to be who ever is making the hoes and buckets and I guess that is top secret because I can't find out who it is. Rather no one will tell me who it is. They just say New Holland. I noticed that it was not as heavy as the last one I had. Bucket that is. I had a JD before and never did break a tooth. I'm very happy with the construction of the hoe, but I guess if and when I get a new bucket I will have to see about reinforcing the cutting edge. Not real sure myself what to do but know several welders that I'm sure can come up with something. I really feel sorry for the dealer because he is stuck in the middle of this thing. First the wait of 10 months on the hoe, then this. Probably thinks I'm aggravated with him but I'm not. One thing I do have is patience. When good weather gets here, or if I had to have it to make a living I might not be quite as patient. But as it has worked out that is not the case. There is no cutting edge except the taper on the bucket where the teeth are welded on. I think there was not as much of a taper on the JD. There was more meat for the teeth to be welded to. But the JD was a HD bucket, not the standard. The only reason I don't still have it is because I didn't know they were supposed to put it on a sub frame which was available. They never mentioned it and bolted it to cast aluminum axle housing. I don't know how it ever lasted 10 yrs. When I ask them about it they said they didn't think I would want to spend another $500. for the sub frame. I can't think of a reason I wouldn't! Anyway that's why I went to who I did. I think it will be ok once the bugs are worked out! Thanks again!

Glad to hear that the dealer is working for you. The backhoe is built by SMC which is owned by Alamo Group. It is also sold under Alamo's Rhino name as a 75C (I think that is the model equivalent). The Rhino parts book shows no cutting edge as a replacement.
SMC was Schwartz Mfg., then AmerEquip and lastly Alamo Group, which sells Rhino. Schwartz/SMC has built loaders and backhoes for Ford New Holland for many years. You or your dealer might find a Rhino dealer that has a bucket, but that doesn't help if it is under warranty.
Also, I looked at the parts book and it show heavy duty versions of the bucket in 16", 18" and 24", but not in the 9" or 12".
Cutting edge stock can be purchased from Woods/Gannon and a variety of other tooth/shank bucket parts suppliers. If the dealer or the welding shop does many bucket cutting edges, a scrap piece would be all that is needed for a 12" bucket and it would be heavier than anything you could buy.

Thanks a lot for the info! I really appreciate it! I will definitely add some support to the bucket. I will probably buy a 16" bucket anyway. I'm sure the hoe and tractor will handle it fine. I am impressed with the construction of the hoe. Larger cylinders and pins. Everything is tight and can get to everything to maintain it easy enough. I have looked at some others such as the Woods BH80-90 and I don't think there is any comparison.
Thanks again!

I just checked out the Rhino 75C and it is the lighter duty one that NH offers. It has 2800 lbs. bucket digging force and the one I have is 4100 lbs. at bucket. I will keep searching maybe I can come up with the heavier one. Don't know if they made any changes in the width of the dipper from 2012-2013 or not. Since I got it in Feb. 2013 I would think it would be a 2013. I do know that it is 5.5" from ear to ear and the pins are 1.250" dia. So I will make some calls if I can find someone that sells them.
Thanks!
