Hi everyone. I have a 2007 JD4720 and I am looking for a good 8 ft 3 pt disc to pull with it. So far I've found 2 that I like. One is the land pride dh2596 and the other is an 8ft heavy duty disc from everything attachments. Both are over 50pd/disc and seem well built. I'm looking for thoughts/concerns on these two.

Also, if anyone has a recommendation for an older model 8 foot 3 pt disc that I can look for used that would be great as well.

Thanks

I would also look at the Frontier 8' pull type and the Tuffline brand. As I understand it Tuffline builds both of these discs. these weigh in around 1800 lbs. IIRC.

I have one of the Everything Attachments xtreme harrows(24-20) and pull it with a Kubota MX5000DT. It pulls well and I really like the the quick angle changes you can do with the crank arms. I have had it for about 4 years now and everything is holding up well including the paint.

Do you feel like the crank arms will hold up well over time? Also, does it come with disc scrapers (not sure if that is correct name, but whatever cleans disc while moving)?

I have a DH2596 that I pull with a Kubota L4240, so similar weight but a little less HP(10 - 15?) than a Deere 4720 I think. My tractor is a hydro with loaded R4's and with the disc I leave the loader on so not really the ideal "field" tractor. It does pull the disc ok, I have plenty of weight but I think the R4's would be the limiting factor. I have hard clay ground so it isn't like I am sinking the disc to the hubs and the only time the tractor seems to struggle is in spots that are on the wet side. Mine does not have scrapers and it seems like if they work they would be nice. I think I end up at least once a year with mud clogging between two pans. The one thing I am glad I have is the hydraulic top link, without it I would struggle with lack of ground clearance. I find the angle adjustment quite easy, having used it I would say unless someone is frail then I don't see any advantage to the "screw" adjust style.

So far they are holding up well. Mine is not stored covered and there is no rust after 4 years and the angles are easy to adjust.

Mine did not come with scrapers but I believe I got one of the first ones manufactured by them.

I have a 3Pt LMC 2422 HD Disc that cuts almost 9'. All my MFWD 5500 (55HP) wants in good ground.
If I could have a do-over, choice would be 2420 (24 Blade-20" Diameter). The big blades have a deep concave and will not cut as deep in new or hard ground.
