I am looking at buying an 8-ft 3pt rotary cutter that will need to be transported on a trailer with the tractor.

Have any of you transported your tractor with an 8-ft rotary cutter on a low-boy trailer? I have enough length, but the wheel fenders are 9" high and I don't know if I can back the cutter onto the trailer to let it sit flat or if the cutter simply cannot be transported on a low-boy trailer. The cutter states it can cut at a height of 12". Therefore, in a perfect world, I should have enought height to clear the fenders......should.......

Also, unless you guys tell me otherwise, I am very hesitant to drive the tractor straight onto the trailer and allow the mx8 to lay on top of the fenders. The weight is approximately 1680lbs.

Obviously, I would like to avoid having to purchase a deck over trailer. Also, my ramps stand up vertical and do not lay flat. My trailer is 22+2ft.

This is the trailer with a 4320 and 6ft cutter. I will be using a 5075e with an 8ft cutter. I can remove the FEL if necessary. The 5075e (without the loader) should be approx 1ft longer than the 4320.

Do you have any experience with this? 4.jpg

travlitt, do you pull forward with your cutter or back onto the trailer ? If you back on, I suppose the cutter, when lifted, is high enough to go over the fenders? If you pull forward, do you leave the cutter raised or let it sit on top of the fenders?

Thanks. Hopefully, my trailer and soon-to-be MX-8 and tail wheels will have the same dimensions as your setup. Thanks for the pics!

place some 6x6 blocks under the cutter and chain it tight to clear the fenders. A couple of long wood screws angled in them will keep in place and easy to remove

I think you will find that an 8' cutter will be quite a bit shorter than the 6', probably about 2' or so. Should work ok to load just like travlitt's picture shows.

Here is my rig, by putting the fel on top of the goosneck, I gain a few feet. The tractor is a NH TN70D and the cutter is a Rhino Se7. As you can see, my cutter rests on the side rails of my utility trailer. My concern would be are you going to be overwidth with an 8' cutter?

8' is within the legal width limit.Should not be a problem.
The following maximum dimensions may be operated on Texas highways without a permit:

Width 8'6"
Height 14
