I'm looking to buy my first tractor. Looking at the B7800 VS 3030.
Is the telescoping lower hitch arms and ratchet adjustment on the 3030 worth the extra money?
Can the 3030 or 7800 pull a 60" rear mower with ease, so dealers say yes, some say no. The rear mower will be for bush hogn' field not a finish cut, fields are flat.

I have looked at the 2630, I know its 4 less hp, but does it still have enough muscle to pul a 4ft mover easily and have a good lifting capacity. Is the 3030 worth the extra $1500

Thanks for any info on any of the models mentioned.
BTW - I'm in SC

I have a B2910. The B3030 is the new model of the tractor. The B3030 or B7800 will run a 60" rotary cutter. In very heavy grass you may have to slow down to stop engine from bogging down. After field has been cut one time the either tractor should not have any problems cutting it in mid range.
I felt the extras were worth the extra cost. If you are going to have several 3PH attachments the telescoping links are a great feature. The position control is also a good feature for returning the 3PH to the same position after making a turn or starting another row. Have you had a chance to try these features at a dealer yet? Ask a dealer to let you install a rotary cutter on both of these machines.
I have seen some good deals on the B2630 here on TBN. If I was buying I would be tempted to buy that model and just take it a little slower in the heavy stuff.

I have the B7800. How much more for the telescoping links?
You can retro-fit when your turnbuckles fail. So think about that.
I have pulled a 5 foot Woods 'hog and a 6 foot RFM with no troubles. The 'hog goes through more than waste high stuff with ease.

The B7800 is a good machine, the difference in what your looking at in the 3030 is slight, but important enough IF your doing grading work or swapping a lot of implements.

For me, when I decided, it came down to dollars for another implement. I only curse once or twice a year for telescoping links. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Get the Deluxe B3030. Your going to spend at least $15,000 anyway. If you can afford to buy a new tractor versus used what's another $1500 in the whole scheme of things? The position control feature alone is worth that. I know it seems like a lot of money now, but in a few years you will never miss it. You will also never regret having the HP and the extra bells and whistles. Plus, IMHO the B7800 looks dated. All of the new Kubotas are going to the sloped hood. That look will be around for a while so your tractor will continue to "Look New" for many years to come and will be more attractive to buyers in the future if you decide to sell it. I went through the same thing when I bought my B3030 last August. I know I would be kicking myself now if I had bought anything less.

Good luck with you decision.

Happy owner of a B3030, FEL and MMM.

I have attached/detached a 5' bushhog and mowed 10 acres on both a borrowed B7800 and a my own B3030 and I can say without hesitation that the 3ph adjustments and more importantly having Position Control instead of just 1/4" valving is definitely worth the money. And that doesn't count the other stuff the B3030 gives you over the B7800.

And both are plenty of tractor for a 60" cutter. I don't know why a dealer would tell you otherwise.(maybe he has a bunch of L's he's trying to unload? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif). B7800 is PTO 22hp and B3030 is 23hp.
