773 fuel guage

fuel guage stopped working a while back.
if its the fuel sender would the machine still run?
the machine stills runs fine.
would like to fix it without removing the engine and fuel tank.
any ideas?

The sender has nothing to do with engine condition monitoring so will not affect it running, unless it runs out of fuel.

Sender is difficult to reach but it is not necessary to remove engine/pump to change it.
