7520 frozen light switch @ 95 deg outside!

My light swtch is stuck the in the off position ( anybody experience that????)
does the rubber boot come off? any tricks I tried prying uo with a blade but did not want to break it..... Yet!

It is stored inside but i most likely have not exercised for 2 months

Sounds like you got a short that arced a weld to the shaft and a terminal. Take the knob off the switch and see if you can turn the switch with pliers.

Try run a little WD 40 down the shaft might even use some air to force it down the shaft or try giving it with a med needle thru the boot. I had the same problem the sw stuck for what ever reason but freed after I did the above.

I peeled the bottom up and tried to get WD snout up in it
How does that switch boot come off?

i think the boot is under the mount that the shaft goes through I suggested that you use a hipo needle and inject it as I did, no work no sweat easy to do and the lube will run down the shaft remember am not saying this will work in every case but it did for me.. good luck. Paul

I wd-40 it and now it rotates and has detents but the it is awlful stiff and the light does not work so off it comes (after i get a new one in my hand) I will update the Boot removal process

Well let's look at it this way like I said it worked for me and you were able to get 50%. but serious the contacts must be corroded you could feed it some more wd-40 and keep actuating the switch and see if it will self clean and free up. Does the mount ring sit on top of the switch boot in other words the ring secure's the boot? Let me know if you do replace the switch how it went am interested.
