First post!!!
first off THANKS so much for this site! It has helped me rebuild a 1954 Farmall cub complete engine overhaul and bolt to bolt restoration!
Now last week the guy I work for out me on another project. Resurrect a 74 ford 3000 from the grave it sat in for 12 years(the over grown ditch) and make it live again!!
So I spent the entire week rebuilding the Simms injection pump and making it run again. So now onto the hydraulics now!!!!
There is a check valve that has been stripped out because someone didn't realize it was a 16mm NOT A 5/8 #%^>!?€!!!!!
Is this where I bleed the system??? The book doesn't really help much and I am a smart guy and normally figure things out quickly but this hydraulic system had me baffled a bit...
The tractor had 3150hrs on it and yeah the filter should have been changed 1000hrs ago so I I should start there?? Change fluids and then.....??? I am not a tractor mechanic I build hot rods and bikes and as the Lucas wire system made me feel at home with my British bikes the hydraulics have left me scratching my head!
So.....
Take off the seat and top aux pump system and get down into the hydraulic housing to be the way right??? As I don't see a pan to drop out to get to the filter any easier way....
Not a problem I think..... But where do I bleed the system from???
