The single bolt-on style concentrate all the weight of the bale on the front lip of the bucket. This can be hard on the bucket. As well, the bale itself will be extended 4 feet _in front_ of the bucket, using the old geometry stuff we thought we learned that means a loader rated at 1000# will not be able to lift a 1000# bale - perhaps not even close to that..... The closer the bale is in to the tractor, the more hay can be lifted.
