I'm looking at 72" rear finish mowers for my new Kubota Grand L3240 scheduled to arrive the first of the week.

Here is what I've been priced.......

Woods PRD7200 - $1885
Woods RD7200 - $1535
Buhler Farm King Y650 - $1400

I had a Buhler Farm King 60" that I let go with my Mahindra 2015 and it was a great mower, is the Woods PRD7000 worth $485 more?

Thanks!
Steve

So what is it about the Woods that's $485 better that the Buhler, the Buhler has a heavier deck (7 ga vs 8ga on the Woods) and the Buhler has a slightly higher blade tip speed, the Woods has the spring loaded belt tensioner while the Buhler has the sliding gearbox.
I can also get the Maschio 72" for $1130 but that one scares me as it seems "too cheap: :D

I recently bought a PRD7200, (it's even orange). I searched a lot of the brands and to me, WOODS makes some real good stuff. This thing cuts awesome and is smooth and quiet. Cast iron pulleys, reinforcement rod around the deck bottom edge, etc. There is a reason that it costs more - that's for sure.........you will not be disappointed.

One brand I'd probably stay away from is Landpride. I usually have to fix my 1672 everytime I mow. I beat it up some but I wouldn't expect the bolts for the covers to fall off, stip out, and become immovable when I need to adjust the belts. The gear box seems fine. The body is thin and bends. Next time I'll go with a higher end mower...

On the other hand, I've had really good service from my Land Pride cutter..quite robust and it was a good price.
