Hello all,

Let me thank you in advance for all replies.

I recently purchased a Ford 3500 with loader and backhoe. Leaks a bit but overall in OK condition. But I have some questions as this is my first move into something outside the two cylinder JDs I grew up on and a Case DC3 my mother learned to drive when she was growing up. so the questions

1. loader controls leak out the top around the valve "plungers". I assume there is an o-ring that should seal that. How hard it it to rebuild that valve body
2. There is small square panel on the bottom, under there area I assume contains the torque converter. Although not always, now and then there will be a lot of oil dripping out of a plug in the center of that panel. Any idea what oil is from and where do I fill up to replace that oil?
3. A couple of time, and it could be coincidence, when the front end was up on a slope, the transmission seems to not work. I move the forward/reverse lever and nothing happens. But come back 20 minutes later and all works. Any ideas of the problem area?
4. Does the power steering have a separate pump and system or does it use the main hydraulic system? If separate, where do you fill it?

Regards,

Ron
