Well, plowed 1/2 the driveway this morning as we had 2.5" of white stuff on the ground. Got to keep showing wifey why we bought the tractor.

Good news: Only took 5 minutes to do 10' X 60' from the garage to the street. Bad news, hit the fence (again) luckly in the same spot so no one is the wiser. Also got sick of looking over my shoulder to see where I was going.

I plan on experimenting tonight with driving thru the snow & pulling the rear blade behind. In the meantime I'm dreaming of a front mounted blade. I want to build my own.

Does anybody have a 702C blade? I want to copy the quick mount of it. There are quite a few used truck snowplows in the want adds for short money. I figure for a couple bucks I can be plowing forwards instead of backwards. I want it to be quick attach so that I can switch to the FEL if I need to stack the snow.

hazmat, don't know if you considered this but....maybe try to look at one of the lightweight plows available at a Home Depot, or BJs. They're marketed as snow wolf, snow bear, or something and new run about $ 1000. I'm sure they're available used. I had one from a previous vehicle and just bolted the mount to the bucket. two pins out and the plow is off and we can stack-away. I did remove the electric winch...no need.
A few years back, I had a fisher 8' blade on a old 'hoe. plowed nice, but real tough to mount a de-mount. there's something to be said for the lightweight plow.

I do have a 702c front blade, 6 1/2' with hydraulic angle and lift. I do have the manual that came with it. Is there a specific
picture you want?

Mac,

I'm trying to brainstorm ideas on how I can make my own front plow with a used truck blade (Myers or western etc.)

Specifically I'm looking for how it mounts to the front of the tractor & what the "frame" of the plow looks like. Basically everything between the blade & the tractor. Are there brackets that bolt on to the tractor & stay there?

Some rough dimensions would be great too. Lets save those for later. Once I see a pic of the plow guts, I'll know what dims I want.

I suppose I should also ask how do you like the setup?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Why don't you just use the FEL to move your snow. That is all I ever use. Tipping the bucket down and putting the loader on float and it does a great job. Yeah you have to go back over because of spillage, but you have to with a blade also. If the snow is really deep a blade doesn't work that well either. I just use my bucket and loader on my TC29D and would think of using any thing different.
