I need a 7-pin trailer tester that has a remote cord long enough that I can sit in the driver's seat and observe the output of my truck.

And.....

I need a 7 pin trailer tester with 12v power so I can stand watch behind the trailer,
push buttons on the remote and see the response.

I don't know how I'd test electric brakes like that but I could test everything else.

This doesn't sound like a difficult product to construct, even DIY.

And here's my other wish: https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/...flat-trailer-light-and-brake-tester/ipa0/9101
It has a battery in the box so you can test the trailer without a vehicle.

I believe that one will test the truck side circuits but not the actual trailer. Looks like the brake tester is testing the adjustable brake force signal from your brake controller.

Here is the one to test the trailer.

To get both it would be $343. I would have to find friend to watch the lights for me before spending that unless I was diagnosing issue at shop regularly.

Best I've found is having a kid to help you.

I have the trailer tester box in the second photo. It's saved my butt several time at work. I've also made up an adapter cable for it to test semi trailers.

That's come in super handy when I have a third party hauler saying the lights are bad.

I can unplug their truck from the trailer, hook up the box and show them the issue is on their end.

Newer Fords tell you if something is burned out and not working. I don’t know how well it works.

Just use a cheap battery camera like a Blink or Ring doorbell camera and watch it on your phone

Depending how long the lead on the trailer is and how long the trailer and tow vehicle are, you can back the trailer in and then nose in next to it, plug it in and have the back of the trailer next to the cab. If those dimensions don't work out, it's not hard to make an extension cord that will make it work. If you have windows on a house or garage in the right position, you can back up to them when it's dark out and see the lights. Personally, I have friends, kids and a wife. Most of the time it isn't hard to find someone who can stand back there and tell you what is and isn't working.
