7 iron deck adjustment

I'm trying to lift my 7 iron deck to its maximum height. I was hoping to be able to keep it on during other operations, such as tilling and backhoe work. I have the front as far as it will go, it's hitting the deck stop. The stop bar in the back under the transmission still has an inch or so before it hits. I was wondering if I should grind down the stop in front to give me more lift height??? Or will this create different problems.

Watch for rear tire clearance. As decks go up, they go back.

Maximum raised height of the 7 Iron mmm on the 3x20 tractors especially with smaller R4 tires has been brought up a number of times. When I first got my new 3720 with 7 Iron 72" mmm in 2007, I raised this this issue with the JD dealer -- figured it was not set up properly. They sent a tech over and adjusted a little higher but still not up to where one would think it should be to be able to do other work. My dealer tells me JD's solution is the drive over deck -- easy on and easy off.

I have never been able to adjust my 7 Iron to raise all the way up to the deck stops as shown in your photo and still keep the deck level.
