My TC45 takes 10x16.5 R4 tires on the front and it’s spec‘s for 6 ply tires, but 6 ply tires are harder to find than 8 ply tires.

I do have a loader, but I don’t want a really stiff ride either.

Would I be fine ready run 8 ply tires?

Yes, you can always go to a heavier (more plies) tire, you just can't generally go with a lighter (fewer plies) tire.

I knew that from trucks, but will it ma ke it ride worse?

Just run with less pressure if the ride gets worse.

Not particularly. The sidewalls will be a tiny bit stiffer but ride quality should be nearly indistinguishable from the lighter tire given you inflate the 8 ply tire to the same pressure as the 6 ply tire.

Wonder how much less than 16 PSI I can go?

Went with 12ply 10-16.5 ultra guards on the m59. 1.5” thread depth. Better traction in soft stuff. No real difference in ride at same pressure. These can go much higher pressure than OEM. Tires weigh over twice as original with a lot more rubber. Better sidewall protection for woods work. Significant performance over worn OEM tires.

I grooved the worn tires and that helped traction in pasture and mud. The ultra guards were a significant increase in traction. Now worn for 4 years and 400hr thinking might groove these.

For R4 the owner's manual says 16-45 PSI front, 12-26 PSI rear. I run 45 PSI front and 25 PSI rear. Nothing worse than rolling a tire off the bead in a turn with a loaded bucket due to low air pressure. As far as ride goes, it is OK, after all it is a tractor. :)
