65 Massey injectors

Howdy all,

I'm in the process of replacing the head gasket. Thought I would bring the injectors in for service as you need to remove them to pull the head.
The local shop wants........$700 to fix them!

Anyone know where a guy can buy refurbished ones?

Tested the ocal MF dealer? Would overhaul the original before buying elcheapo made replicas.

These injectors out to be made of gold.
$663 to rebuild or I can refurbished ones out of the states for $140 a piece.
Tractor is only worth $3000, I bet I could strip it for parts and sell for twice that!

The tractor was manufactured in England,these injectors are manufactured by MF in England. Following advice to only buy USA made products simply isn't in your own interest. Sure,it's easy for them to advise you how and where to spend your money but hide and watch where they spend their own.

This is std CAV injectors? Should not cost much to test them and adjust or rebuild them. The price you have is very high.

Well, a lot of these cheap parts are not very high quality, not close to what Perkins used when the engine was new.

And you probably has to test them to be sure the work as the seller promise.

You can even see on the picture what low quality but is on the casting, seems very far away from the proper thing.

DANG.. that's awful hi.. I rebuild injectors daily & I haven't ran into THAT ONE yet..
They're ALL OVER the web for 45.00.. Now IF u wanna spend 140.00 apiece.. let me know.. I'm your guy..

The nozzles are $62 each for a grand total of $251
Labor is $122.76 an hour for 2.4 hours for a grand total of $294.62
Another $30 in shop supplies plus some tax........$663.13

I could bring it to another shop in an effort to save on labor but they have the parts and I need to pay them $95 for testing if I want them back.

I spoke with a diesel shop in the states and buddy said they sell maybe 2 or 3 of these injectors a year.
He ways they are very hard to come by.
He ran a number off the injection pump to determine the proper injectors as this tractor has 3 different styles of injectors.

Rock and a hard place I guess......
