641 Swinging Drawbar front mount clevis (difference)

Evening, Gents.

Finally broke down and bought a drawbar to tug this stone boat of ours.

Drove up to MacFaddens in Sharon Springs NY for it yesterday (Friday). Drawbar, Front mount clevis, pin and retaining clip all came to 100 bucks.

In installing it earlier today, I noticed a difference in the front mount clevis that really has me scratching my head trying to figure out why the one on the tractor would be so different, and looking like the difference was intentionally engineered.

Maybe after looking at these pics, y'all might have an idea what the extra meat on the underside of the front mount clevis is for. I believe if you click on 'em they'll open up to full size...

Interested to hear what it might've been for. Anyway, drawbar is installed and did the job today.

The difference is the mounting pin. This is the old style 8n clevis with a couple of **** hanging off the sides that when pushed up fit in the grooves and turn to lock in place instead of the one with a hair pin to lock in place.

Curious why the heck there'd be an old-style 8N clevis on this 641, but if those old-style pins had a habit of falling out from turning and un-locking, that'd explain why there wasn't a drawbar on my tractor when I bought it lol

I guess then one day when I get the time and motivation, I'll swap these two clevis' put the correct one on and get the old-style 8N one off to someone who needs it.
