I am confused with the 62" MMM that is on the used 2210 I purchased recently. Can someone please enlighten me concerning the relationship between the four anti-scalp rollers (each of which has its own adjustment) and the knob that controls how far up and down the deck moves? Right now (which is set the way the prior owner set it) the knob is on 5 but the posts that control the rollers are on the second hole from the bottom. This seems backwards to me. If I want to cut, say, at 3 inches and move the knob to 3, do I then have to raise or lower the posts for the rollers according to the little diagram on the deck? I take it that the rollers are anti-scalp and are not designed to be on the ground supporting the deck. In other words, the deck is suspended, not ground-engaging. Is that correct?

Also, how do I raise the deck so that it stays locked up off the ground but still allow me to use the three-point up and down?

Many thanks. . . .

First off, yes, the deck is supposed to float. The general idea is that the rollers (wheels) should be around 1/4" off the ground when the deck is set at your preferred cutting height.

To hold the deck up while using the 3 point hitch, with the deck raised, turn the height adjustment knob all the way to the right - to the "lock" symbol. The knob might not point exactly at the symbol, but turning it all the way to the right will hold the deck up.

Hope that helps.

Hi:

The anti-scalp rollers are just that. Ideally, put them all the way up and adjust the height knob to what you want. Then let the rollers drop to the ground and pull them up 1/2 an inch (I usually just pull them up to the first hole that fits) so they are not
contacting the ground. Do this on a level surface (pavement) if possible. If your deck is leveled correctly they should all be pretty close to the same distance off the ground (The front should be a little lower). I usually adjust them a little high (My ground is very level) so if I adjust the cut height a little I don't have to re-adjust the wheels.

Also, be thankful, on the 72" 7 iron deck (3320) adjusting them requires removing a lock pin and shifting cutout shims. Not too bad but it's very easy on the 62" deck.

I 2nd the lock comment. I lock the deck all the time so I can use 3ph attachments.
