What do you think, I know I only have 10HP at the PTO, but I assume that I will just have to take it a bit slower.

Any lift issues?

Thanks

Out of the question. Recommended size is 42". 48 might work but your going to break your tractor using that.

I think that tiller is a bit much for for your machine. I'm guessing you are asking this because you got an awesome deal on a 60" tiller. If that is the case give it a try and if it is too much take off some of the tines and make the actual tilling width less.
good luck

You may need a wheelie bar...but the tiller would be in the way. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A standard duty 5' tiller is in the ballpark of 450 lbs and the weight will be centered ay least 4' behind the tractor. No way would I even consider it from a weigh point of view or HP. At 10 PTO HP the stress that a 5' tiller would put on you tractor is ridiculus.

I have an old 60 inch tiller that our neibor gave to us for the farm. I wanted to run it behind my BX, but it is built pretty good. I am thinking I will trade it in on a 4 ft model. Even though the 4 ft's I have seen are offset?

Thanks

Would a B2630 run a 60" tiller? I think the PTO hp is 19. 5.

You're kidding, right?

I have a 50" on a L3010 and its a load for it in the heavy clay soil we have here.

You'd be stretching with a 42" unless you have some really loose, sandy loam soil.

I run a Muratori 37" on my BX2200 (16.7 hp at PTO). What are the circumstances? Are you thinking about buying this? Is someone offering to give it to you? Is it new or used? I am most doubtful, but then again, is there a way to try it before you put down any money? Will the person offering to sell or give it to you allow you to attach it and go try it? I think that "Seeing is believing," is probably the best way for you to be convinced of either "yes" or "no".

I would not recommend it. The minimum PTO HP required to use a 60" tiller is 18hp and it depends if the tiller you're talking about is a light duty one. For exemple, you could have a 60" heavy duty tiller that requires at least 39hp at the PTO.

Same thing about the weight. If it's light duty we're talking about 580 to 640 lbs. That's a lot for a BX. IMHO that's way too much. A weight like that would put too much stress on the rear axle. The problem with a 3pt hitch on a tractor like a BX is the hitch is too strong for the tractor's capacity. THOUGH, it's interesting to mention that the weight of a BT600 backhoe on a BX23 is 617 lbs and if Kubota designed that backhoe to fit perfectly on that model it means that the tractor can take it. I don't know if the capacity of a BX23 and a BX1500 are the same since the BX1500 is not designed to be equipped with a backhoe.

I'm in the process of buying a tiller for my B3030. I'm looking for a 60" (brand new) and every dealer is telling me that 60" is the maximum for a tractor with 23 pto hp. They told me to go 2" deep at a time no more.

So that's way I'm pretty sure that 60" for a BX is a no-no.

Don't do it. I've got twice that much PTO HP, and my 60" is a load on my tractor.
