There is a real nice used 60" 3pt snowblower at a local dealer.

Does anyone have any experience with a blower of this size on a BX?

I don't have a BX, but I run a 72" blower on a B7800 (22HP @ PTO). There is tons of power and, with the HST, I go as fast or as slow as snow depth and wetness dictate. The only problem I find is that when going forward I have to be very careful not to sideswipe things with the extra width of the blower.

how much does he want for the blower? I'm in the market for one, new or used and wasn't sure what to expect for pricing.

RENOB,

Its a small world,my neighbor who is a dealer, sat at my kitchen table and quoted me for a 60 inch METEOR,with hydraulic shoot rotation, just two hours ago.He thinks my 23 will run it just fine. Its a few hundred more than the 51,but with all the sharp turns i have to blow ,i think my tires will be in the bankings with the 51.He came by to tell me the new prices start july 1st and there is going to be a 10% increase on them ,because of the steel prices.Im going to pull the trigger now.Iwas going to buy a PRONOVOST PUMA,but its several hundred dollars more, and i watched a feller down thw street use a METEOR on his cut JOHN DEERE ,and it really threw the snow 20 or 30 feet.
The weight difference between the 51 and the 60 is 30 lbs, aint much difference

I stopped on Sunday when the place was closed. I hope to stop back this week for some more info. Perhaps they will be motivated to sell this time of year.

It's good to hear someone (your neighbor, the dealer) thinks the BX will run a 5 footer. I hope to hear from someone that actually has some experience with one. The one I saw also had a hydro chute. I think that will be pretty handy.

You can always go slower, but I found that my TC18 (14.5 PTO HP) would struggle in heavy snow with a 48" blower. It's more than just the HP to blow the snow, the heavier snow will "push" the tractor around a little. I'd think the BX would do well with something up to 54". That said, you'll be fine in 90% of your snowfalls, its going to be that big wet storm that makes you slow down (or get out & blow mid storm).

Just to throw another piece of data out there -- I found a used Agro-Trend C-60 Snowblower in January here in western NY. Very good shape, not many hours on it. Delivered 30 miles to my place by the seller (private party) for $900. That's less than half of what a JD dealer quoted me on a new one IIRC.

It works great on the back of my B3030 -- hardly even know it's there. However, it is JD green, so I thought it might burst into flames when I hooked it up to my orange tractor

I think you'd be better off size wise with a narrower 48" blower. I do think your BX24 will handle the weight and power need fine though.

I too bought, a just like new, 60" Agrotrend for my B7800 last winter. I got it for $700 and it worked very well for moving out all the snow we got last winter. Here's a PDf of the manual in case anyone needs it.

Thank you! Printed and filed. The previous owner could not find the manual.

You got a good deal on your C-60.
