Just bought a new 2012 kioti cab tractor with ag tires.I have a few questions,I burn wood pellets for winter heat each pallet weighs 2,000 lbs.Plus the 400lbs weight of the pallet forks.I noticed today while moving around a 2,000 lbs with my new ag tires that they were pretty much mushed down close to the rim with 30 lbs of air in each front tire. From what I have read the stock front ag tires are 6 ply is this true?Would buying new 8 ply correct this issue as far as side wall flex? Thanks, coobie

I guess 8 ply would let you run more pressure. But did you have a heavy weight on the 3pth? Without one, you are essentially doubling the load in the bucket, onto the front tires.
For a few pallets a year I'd put a bit more air in and just go slow with a big counterweight.

More 'plys' mean you can add more air to handle heavier loads.. At 30psi, they would crush the same. Add more air when you move heavy stuff..

Does anyone know how much, if any, that foam filling does for load bearing?

Overpressure on a tire and rim in good shape is safe to near twice rated pressure on a temporary basis. Damage and failure is more likely when the tire does not hold its stance under load.

Titan® Tire catalog

Titan® Tire catalog

TITAN HI-TRACTION LUG R-1 in 6 ply are rated at 1360 lbs. @ 28 psi. The same tire in 10 ply is rated for 1870 lbs. @ 48 psi. A pair of ten ply tires at 48 psi are rated to carry an extra 1020 lbs. on the front end. I would think that running the higher ply tire would be a good option if you are routinely moving heavy objects with your FEL.

I think that foam filling may be listed as a don't in the tractor manual.

Its all about the PSI.. Air supports the load

Air pressure is PART of the equation, not all of it. Load rating of the tire carcass is the other element. Load rating is directly related to the ply rating (or ** rating for radials) and tire construction.
