New holland 3930
I have a new holland 3930 and I want to get a landscape rake. ?? Is should I get a 6 ft or 7 ft rake or does it not really make that much difference. Another question- you can swivel these rakes so that the tines are pointed backwards, does it matter what size your tractor is in order to swivel the rake or will the rake hit on the back of your tractor if you get too large of a rake. I saw that tractor supply has a rake, anybody have any experience with the tractor supply rake.

Thanks

Definitely a 7' rake, or maybe even an 8' for your tractor unless you have some space concerns. It's always good to have a rake that works more than 1/2 your driveway on a pass , if that is what you going to use it for. I pull a 6' rake between a 26hp Kubota.

Depends if you trailer it , my trailer has sides , I stick with 72 inches max width

The cheaper rakes that are 8' wide normally will not spin 360* while hitched to the tractor. Not sure about the 7 footers. It's easy enough to measure and be sure before your make a purchase. Boom pivot point needs to measure about, (a little under is ok) 1/2 of the implement width. ETA probably has about the best rake for the money, you may want to check them out.

You can handle as much rake as you have room for. Our ETA Xtreme Landscape Rakes, including the 96", are designed to spin around completely when attached. I would put the Xtreme on your tractor, but we also make a Compact Tractor Rake for smaller tractors which features the same great tine bar design with durable Italian tines.

I agree, get as big as you can fit between your gates, doors, trailer, etc. A rake isnt much load on the tractor. If it fits around your property, you will have no issues pulling or lifting an 8' rake

My brother in law loaned me his Ford 2110 4wd with a TSC 7 ft rake. We had bulldozed an old house and had rutted the land up pretty bad. I used the bucket to fill in the ruts and then used the rake to round up demo debris and to smooth out the dirt enough to reseed. I noticed the paint was cracked pretty bad around the pivot point on each side. I realized that the C-channels were torquing around and twisting causing the paint or powder coat to crack.

I filled up the tines quite a few times with debris but it was nothing that I thought should bend anything. I guess it depends on your needs but I wouldn't recommend the TSC rakes for anything more than raking light material, from my experience.
