Chipper 6" jinma pto chipper problem

I've got a new jinma 6" pto chipper. After running about 10 hours, I noticed blades hitting cutting plate. So I adjusted cutting plate back, and after running another 10 minutes, same thing happened. Almost looks like the flywheel is moving fore and aft, although I can feel no movement. Blades still appear sharp and in good shape. I'm looking for some advice on any similar problems, and on where I can start to troubleshoot.

As a supplentary question, does anyone know where and how to order new cutting blades for same in Canada?

Mine started heading in that direction too. I think the flywheel shaft is supposed to be all the way into the bearings to a shoulder on the shaft. Set screws are then tightened, into detents on the shaft I think, [its been a long time] to keep the shaft from slipping back the other way and getting closer to the cutters like yours. Once I got mine back into position - I think I pryed against the bearing housing and pulley to move it - may have done some hammering on woodblocks placed strategicly-- I tightened the sets. I didnt trust that as being enuf, so I then worked on the pulley to get it loose on the shaft and then slid it back against the bearing and tightened it good. There is a taper collet inside the pulley that tightens on the shaft as the collet flange clamp bolts are tightened - loosen them. There are some threaded holes in the flange that you put the bolts in [use different bolts than the clamp bolts if you can find some in the leftover hardware] to press the collet out so it loosens on the shaft. Then move it, loosen the press bolts and tighten the clamp bolts forcing the collet back in, tightening evenly as it goes in. Be sure you dont run into the press bolts. When it starts to snug keep going round and round to keep them even as the collet seats tight. Ive had no further trouble.

Read through the other posts on TBN about these chippers. I went through and made up a list of all the problems and spent an hour or two checking tightening and lining things up.
I don't know of any source in Canada for blades but there are a few jinma suppliers that hang out here that do carry the parts. I'll be ordering from one of them since they have provided so much support and info for TBN members.

Yep, I had that problem too. My problem was that the pillow blocks that holds the flywheel shaft were loose.

I tightened up the bolts and the problem went away! It's probably a good idea to check ALL the bolts in the unit.
