Anyone out there put a cat-back dual exhaust system on a 6.2 GMC?

The pickings are kind of lean...I found an MBRP system that looks pretty good. I really wanted T304, but this is T409 which I believe is a less corrosion resistant stainless.

Question I have is: Can the factory sewer pipe exhaust be removed without a sawzall. I'd like to keep it in one piece if I need to put it back on..That factory setup with the resonator etc has to be painfully expensive.

Also, if I'm going to go through this, I want to hear it. I've heard the flowmasters etc and they are usually not much more than an additional tailpipe.... i've heard some nice sounding Chevy's out there but never get to ask the drivers what they have.

StainlessWorks has a nice looking system too, but it's almost $1K..not sure I want noise that bad..I already have a bit of a factory bark anyway.

Yea, not many of the 6.2 trucks out. Most all GM trucks around here are 5.3L and a lot of 3/4 ton with the old 6.0L. I also see less and less guys putting exhaust on all them, all brands. Maybe its I am getting older or maybe its just not being done but it seemed like 10 years ago everyone had duals on trucks and stacks on diesels. They kind of went out of fashion here 5 years ago.

I am not a loud pipe guy weither it be diesel or gas but I will say a Dodge 360 sounded great back in the day with duals and a Ford 7.3L sounded like a tractor with stacks. Many guys ran the 7.3L's with a single 5" and exited it mid way between the bed/cab seem and the rear tire like some of the F-150's had factory. That short exhaust sounded killer.

5.9L Cummins can also sound good with stacks.

I might be in my 40's now but I certainly haven't grown up...I still like noise.:D

Will have to keep reseraching I guess...Anyway looking at a set of Banks SS headers for the motorhome to deal with the manifold bolt rot..Just have to convince myself to drop $1400 on them.

I have a 6.2 in my 2011 GMC Sierra and with the HUGE muffler it still has a nice sound to it. I haven't heard too many swaps for our 6.2's but if I wanted some info on it, the first place I would go would be to gmtrucks.com. Several guys there have 6.2's and if it's able to be done to your truck, they'll know about it!

This one sounds pretty good. He's running Magnaflow. It must be custom. Magnaflow's website says "comming soon" for 6.2L. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kajb-pAja6g]2011 GMC Sierra 6.2L Third Dyno Tune Pull - YouTube[/ame]

That sounds pretty good..Thanks..I'm not sure i'd want to be the guy standing next to the dyno...Looks like the truck was trying it's best to jump off..Did you see the front end lift? Hopefully there was one heck of a binder holding that thing down.
