I have gearlube leaking on my brakes which is common. On both sides I have new seals and little to no end play on shaft The leak is minimul but it doesn't need much to saturate brakes. I did notice I filled the transaxle a little over which I will correct but I don't believe that would cause this. It is also leaking at the seal where driveshaft goes in. That is also a new seal and I reshimmed to tighten so there is very little play in shaft splines. Also breather is clear and I taped shafts so seals didn't get wrecked on install. Does anyone have an idea. I could see missing up 1 seal but why all three dripping. Only seams to drip when I drive it

Even with wrapping the splines, one has to be really careful. Plenty of lube on the tape, and go easy. I rolled the lip on one when doing my 310B, which is the same setup on the seal & shaft.

Did you tape the shaft from the diff. out..?? You need to do this, to have a smooth surface for the seal lip to ride over. And just barely on the smooth surface where the seal rides. If you taped in as far as where the seal rides, you may have inverted the lip removing the tape. I also twisted it back and forth slightly when going on. Not just a straight push in.

If I remember right, the bull pinion shaft drops a bit with the seal out, and I needed to raise mine a smudge to get things OC. I'm thinking that is how I ruined my first seal, not doing this. Got to be pretty careful installing the brake assy. too when re-installing, not to let it bear too much weight on the seal.

I'll have to get some more seals. I just barely put tape over the lip and I did tape going from in to out. Covered it in gear lube and it went together smooth. I twisted and turned turned as it went on. Yes the assembly does drop a bit when apart. I just don't get it cause both sides leak and it went together so well. Thanks for the help. Let me know if there are any more ideas. Otherwise sounds like a redo

Did you get your seals through Case, or a bearing house..?? Not that it makes any difference, other than price. If you're not in a big hurry, get the number off the old seal, and check prices here:JBR 17 LLC, I got mine here, and are about half the price that a local bearing house wanted. A great place to buy bearings too..!! Again, about half of anywhere else I've found, and most roller bearings come with their own race in a set. Everything I ordered several years ago were all Timken U.S.A. bearings, not the China crap...

Type the seal number in the search block top left. Usually takes about a week to get them is the only problem.

Case tractors with this disc brake setup were all notorious for seal leakage. A buddy of mine is a Case Ag. tractor collector, told me this. He also showed me to take a propane torch, and burn/boil the oil out of the brake disc's. I hung mine on a steel rod clamped to a big shop press outside the shop. Take a propane torch, and wave across the brake material surface, getting them pretty hot. The oil will literally boil out of the disc material. I was afraid it would ruin them, being they are bonded, not riveted... Didn't seem to hurt them. When finished & cooled, spray them with brake cleaner for a final cleanup. You'll be amazed at the oil that comes out of them..!!

I got mine from dale at tractorstuff. He is great to deal with and I think $10.50 a seal. I wonder if the oil is coming from the brakes. It's just a drop or two when I run it a little harder. I was worried about heating them up a lot so I didn't heat them till the oil quit I figured it would eventually bun off on its own. What do you think ? I'm going to put some bolts in the brake plate and run it with the riggers down for a while and see if I get any oil without the brakes being on it. Could there be that much oil it would drip when bakes get warm.

If they were soaked up a good bit, could be. I couldn't believe how much came out of the one's I did.

But, there's one way to find out..!!

Maybe it was from the brakes. I ran it on stabilizers in fourth gear for 20 minutes or so then drove it a little and doesn't seem to leak on the side I have the brakes off. Maybe it's ok
