Question about a Ford 5610S: We have a great condition Ford 5610S with like 300 hrs, but no FEL. I like the Ford but am wondering what's the best practical way to add a FEL? One guy I've talked to say it's better to just sell the Ford and get something with a FEL already on it than mess with trying to add one. There are no used Ford loaders that will fit that I can find (without driving out of state). Other people I've talked to say get a Koyker or other after market. I like the low hours on the 5610S, they don't make them like that anymore. What's the best practical way to do this? The tractor is in rural South Texas, so it's going to involve some transport.

Koyker, DU-AL, Woods, Westendorf all make good loaders. I have a Ford model loader on my 3910 that was on it when I got it, but I wouldn't hesitate to have put one of the brands I mentioned. They all make model specific framework that might be different than what Ford had. Still very robust loaders.

The hardest part is the hydraulic system, not necessarily hard but making sure you have enough flow and pressure to operate it. My tractor has a engine driven pump mounted on the side above and in front of the clutch pedal that is plumbed in to the main hydraulic system, makes for alot of hydraulic capability.

Bush Hog used to make loaders for the 5610S. Check with a dealer. The 5610 has enough hyd. capacity to handle a loader.

Schwartz Manufacturing used to make loaders for Ford / NH, they've been out of business for some time. I had some minor issues getting parts for our 7310 loader, which is on our 3930.

As mentioned, the Koyker is a good loader. I have a Bush-Hog loader on my NH. Nothing wrong with them. I know that both of those brands make them color matched to multiple tractor brands, including the Ford.

Last time I heard, a loader for that size tractor was running somewhere in the $7k range. Since you already have a good tractor, and you know what you have, that would be my choice. You aren't going to find a good tractor with an FEL for anywhere near that.
