I've been closing in on a Mahindra, mostly because it seems like more tractor for the buck than others. I could be wrong though. This is what I will be using it for:
1) preparing 8 acres (and up to 23 acres) of land following removal of stumps for future pasture. Hired trackhoe guy for stumps. Is a Box Blade the best option for preparing the land? I already have a root rake, which might be best to use before seeding. Thoughts?
2) Regular duty will be moving round bales out to horse pasture(s). Sometimes must go through very deep mud to get out into the pastures.
3) Periodic flood control is loader work = moving up to several truck loads of riprock and/or smaller rock.
4) Small road building around property.
5) Would like to one day bale hay, but that probably will not happen. If I did, it would medium rounds or square bales.
Thoughts & suggestions appreciated. I've been reading lots of posts and figured I would throw out these two specific tractors for opinions. I'm leaning towards the 5530, as that is closer to what I would prefer to spend. Would love to have a tractor with cab. Dealer tells me these models do not offer cabs!?! Have not entirely ruled out other brands.
Thanks! -Rob
