New Holland Workmaster 25S
I have 25 hrs on my New Holland Workmaster 25S. (MT125) Great little tractor and I am having a lot of fun with it. So in preparation for the first maintenance service event I visited my dealer to see what they had in stock for parts like filters etc. They had nothing. But the parts guy was nice and said he would get it all in a week. Fine.

Then I asked what the prices were on the filters and all. $15, $20, etc. but one of the filters was $54.75! So I had to ask which one that was. It was the little plastic see through fuel prefilter P/N MT 40350134. I found a thread on this forum that lists a Fram G3 in line filter that could be used as an alternate for $4.

So my question is has anyone else been quoted $54 for this filter? Surely this is a typo? Right?

I thought I remembered seeing these called out in the MT 125 Owner's Manual, but I can't find it right now.

But then again, my first 50 hour check list doesn't mention changing the fuel filter.

yep, they seen him coming and the parts manager was like: :cool2::cool2::drink:

The parts guy was actually very good. He told me he would order it in anyway and check because that price had to be wrong. I was mostly wondering if any MT125 folks had been quoted that or if it was just a NH mistake.

I’m guessing the price of $54 was a pack of 4 or 6. I drive a Kubota and it has a rigid mounted fuel filter—maybe they quoted the entire fixture and not the element? Let’s face it, fuel filters are all over the place.

Nope... No mistake. I was quoted $48 for that fuel filter. I told them no. I have not changed mine yet, I'm only at 150 hrs, don't have to change it until 200 hrs. I'll probably get a cross reference one from NAPA.

WoW!! I thought my fuel filter was expensive at $26. But the recommended change interval for my fuel filter is every 400 hours. My fuel filter is the size of a "normal" auto oil filter.

Wow! Now you guys got me nervous. I went into my dealer and just ordered both fuel filters and didn't bother the ask the price. The spin-on engine oil, HST and hydraulic filters were resonable and I figured these small plastic or paper filters wouldn't be bad either. But I guess we'll see when they come in.

All your filters and fluids are easily purchased at a local NAPA outlet.
Your fluids and greases can be sourced from TSC, for that matter.
That being said, your local dealer also needs to be supported.
