Anyone have any experience with this model, got a chance for 2wd w G\B 360 loader, low hours, clean. Just wondering if anyone has used one at all-any input appreciated. Thank you

The 4 wheel drive model was trouble free for us. Same engine so it should be pretty reliable.

My brother has a 5510 2wd that he has over 2500 hours on and no problems at all. Does this one have a cab? I know the cab they used to put on those 5000 series wasn't that great.

It's a good solid utility tractor for sure. JD has had excellent luck with that motor. It should last you for thousands more hours before anything has to be done to it.

I have the 5300 with the shuttle shift hydraulic reverser. The parking pawl in these tractors has been a nightmare for JD. Mine has been worked on three different times. The last one was a 6000$ bill. JD came out with a recall on them and I did get my money back. The problem is still not solved and I am careful to park on level ground when using the park lever.
On the whole of things though, I like the power and weight to hp ratio. I run a 640 loader, 9 inch bearcat chipper, 6ft bushog, 71/2ft tiller. I had the creep gears installed for tilling and it does a wonderful job.

The one I am looking at is straight gear tractor, I believe, have not driven it yet. Does have a new G\G 360Loader w JD joystick. Seems like a nice setup just dont know much about the newer JD utilities. It has cast rear wheel centers, where std one year,so I am told. Really like the lay out, between that and a nice 2640 w JD 146 loader. NOt the same tractor, but the best comparison for now.I like the physical size one the 5310, and the fact that its 20 years newer, better resale value-any other ideas?

Unless you are going to do a lot of loader work, it sounds like you have a nice tractor. Without the 4 wheel drive having a loader is almost an incumberance. They don't do to well, especially if you get the frontend downhill with a load in it. You can lose the ability to stop it. I have even had a rototiller push me downhill with a 2wheel drive. Just be safe and know the limitations of the tractor.
