Received tractor last Friday..The 3ph lift arms will not go all the way down to the ground as they did on my Case 1390..Lacks about a foot touching the ground..
Is this normal?..

Thanks

I'm curious as to why would you want them to touch the ground?

Have you adjusted the lift linkages to the lowest position? I adjusted mine to about 8" from the ground which works fine for me. I guess you could adjust them till they touch the ground, I've just never seen it done before.

My 790's lower links arms drop to about 6"-8" above the ground.
I've looked at a lot of the Deere CUT's...all the ones I've seen were about the same...

Out of the 4 John Deeres I have owned , I have never had 1 that the arms went any closer than 6" to the ground.

What do you mean by "lift linkages"?..I moved the stablizer chains to lowest position along with top link..Mine is a minimum of 12" from the ground..I think they should be 4"-6" from the ground..

Congrats on the new tractor.
The "lift linkages" are the links that go between the arms and the rocker arms that "lift" the arms. On one side, the lift linkage has an adjustment on it to change the 'level' of the two arms with respect to each other. The sway chains or links just restrict the swing motion of the arms sideways.

Again, the question - why do you want to go below the 12"?

Lower just restricts the height they can raise to, as I look at it.

I have some home made 3pt hitch's where the lift pins are very low..I guess I could move them, but it would be much easier to do it at the tractor end..It's no big deal, was just wondering if this was normal for a Deere..Spoil with Case I had for 22 yrs..Thanks

Probably normal with the size tractor you bought /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Can you lengthen the 'lift' links as suggested? Is it Cat I ?

What attachments have the lift pins so low? Just curious, and pics would be nice. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

On pages 55-1 through 55-16 of your operators manual is a lot of information on the rockshaft and 3-point hitch. I lowered mine to where I did not have prop up my box scrape up to attach it.

Did you get the telescoping draft arms with your tractor?

Thanks for the info..Slowly reading the owners manual..I did get the telescoping arms..Haven't attached anything yet..I am a little disappointed that I can not shift on the go even though I depress the clutch..You can hear/feel the gears grind some..Do you have the same problem?..From reading the FEL owners manual & looking at labels on lift cylinders, I found that the dealer installed the lift arms in the wrong pin holes..It allows the FEL to lift to high creating an unsafe condition..Dealer coming out to correct problem..Is yours connected in proper holes?..I have the 522 JD loader..
