Considering trading up from 6000 to 7520, but have a 511 backhoe. Does anyone know if Bradco makes sub mount frame for 7520?

I sure didn't see a backhoe as an option for the 7520. That is one reason I had to immediately discount it. Don't really see a reason why someone couldn't modify the subframe mount or have someone else fabricate.

Not sure why the website doesn't have any backhoe info for the 7520.

Just curious, why are you thinking of upgrading? I can't imagine my 6500 not having enough power to do anything I'd want to do.

I've heard a lot of people talk about the looks on the 7520 but I must be in the minority. I actually like the styling of the 00 series better.

You could call Bradco McMillan and ask.....I have a feeling that it will take about 2 years for them to set up a deal for Marhindra. It took about that long for them to get one for the 6000/6500. BobG in VA

The hoe works fine for small jobs. I have found that if I run it for a few hours, the hyd fluid must get hot because the cylinders get hot. I have been thinking about a pump, but with the gpm's of the 7520, don't think it would be necessary. Also, that is not really the reason for thinking of upgrade. I have a lot of hay fields to manage, and have been using 10' rotary cutter. It will pull it, but sometimes it is slow. Been looking for a good used 15' batwing and know I will need extra hp to pull it efficiently. I have been pleased with my 6000, and like the 6500 that came out after I bought my 6000. Can't justify the expense and small amount of additional hp moving from 6000 to 6500.
Actually, I have also been looking for a good 90 to 120 hp tractor which I would dedicate to pulling the batwing. Not found one yet, so 7520 was another option. But, not so if can't keep the backhoe.

Slippy, that sounds like good reasoning for upgrading if you need that size of a mower. You might want to consider though as your tractor gets much bigger the hoe usefullness may diminish do to the sheer size of the machine. I think you'd be okay with the 7520 but if you decide on another brand and a larger machine it might make less sense to bring the hoe along.

what type of work are you doing with the hoe now? would it make more sense to downgrade to a smaller mahindra and hoe combination and get a second older larger field tractor for the batwing? Seems like a common dillema.

I'd also like to add that even with the PTO pump the backhoe gets hot. I think hot temperatures to a certain extent are normal with hydraulics, and they are designed to run hot. I would like to install a temp gauge on mine sometime to make sure it was within the norms though. Maybe an adjunct to the breather port on the hoe tank would work with a temp gauge on it? You could probably put one inline to the remote port since you are using the tractor hydraulics.

They do have a 509/511 mount kit for the 7520. We now have them in stock and I suspect other dealers do as well. It needs no external pump as the tractor pump puts out about 17gpm.

That is great news for Slippy! I just checked the website again and they still arent showing a backhoe as an option for the 7520.

Thanks Dave ... but that may have made my situation more difficult because now I have the option /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif. Tim, I did pick up a smaller 40 hp tractor w/ hoe this summer for the smaller jobs. But what you say is exactly true, and I was already there... the 6000 w/ fel & hoe is too big and too heavy for some of the smaller jobs. To answer your other question, I use it for various jobs, most recent dug a hole for a 1100 gallon water storage tank and line ditch. Had to go down about 7 feet to get top of tank below frost line w/ gravel fill on bottom. For that job, I could not imagin doing it with my 40 hp tractor and smaller hoe.
My thanks again to both of you for your interest and input.
By the way Dave, what does a mount run for the 7520?

Slippy,

You know the 7520 isn't much bigger physically than the 6500. I think you need it /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif It actually feels more compact in use because of the sloping hood.

I don't have the price handy for the mount kit individually. As I always say, check with your local dealer.
