5065e battery life?

Got new 5065e last Summer , MFWD and 553 FEL. Live in SC where we see temps in single digits a few weeks each year. Tractor is covered from sun and rain. Have 50 hours on it and removed battery from Nov thru Jan. cranked up yesterday and it hesitated but fired up. Subsequent starts thru day no problem. How long should battery last ? Putting only 100 hrs per year, will that lead to shorter life? Is battery warranted? Calling dealer today. Do not have tender on it as no power at farm. Considering solar tender

Solar tender would be a great idea.

I have had every brand of battery go south prematurely. There are very few primary battery makers anymore (Johnson Controls, East Penn, Exide).

The battery in my 5203 lasted a little over 5 years. Just bought a new one from John Deere to the tune of $200. Hope this one lasts just as long.

Rolling Farms, I see you are in SC. Me too. I live in Fort Mill but have an 80 acre farm near Lake Wateree, between I-77 and Hwy 21. Anyway, nice looking tractor. I just got 5065e last Summer and really enjoy it. Got a disc harrow (Woods DMH6) and a Bush Hog 296. Really enjoy the 553 FEL as well. What do you use you tractor for?

When the Deere dealer came out to do some service work on my tractor the mechanic mentioned on his own the batteries they put in these are junk and last no time He said he has had to replace allot of them. He also said on his own to only use Deere hydraulic fluid. He farms also and is a trusted mechanic by us.
