Tom, your alternator isn't working. Right after startup it should be recharging the battery at somewhere around 14 volts. This would be reflected at the alternator output and at the positive post of the battery.
If you have a manual look in the troubleshoot area. Might get lucky and get guidance. There are several things that could be wrong. I usually apply the K.I.S.S. principle (keep it simple stupid). Not having looked at your tractor, I assume the regulator is built into the alternator? If so there should be a 18 gauge or possibly 16 gauge wire that would be the trickle wire. It should have 12V when the key is turned on. Dead when the key is off. If you can't find a wire doing that and if the regulator is built into the alternator, there is nothing telling the alternator to charge. That trickle wire voltage is what activates the regulator.
Until you give us more information I don't know what to add. Take a pic of your alternator showing the wire hookups. That will tell us what type you have.
I don't know if you can change your thread title?? If you can then add "alternator not charging" or something like that. Only people going to open this thread is someone that is interested in a 5030L.
