Has anyone looked at one of the new 5000 series compact tractors from Cub Cadet? They look like a nice unit based on what I see on Cub Cadet's website. I was just curious if anyone had some performance information on them.

They haven't been out long at all but they do seem like they have some merit. They are in a very popular size right now and they are full featured. Much of it is already proven so I don't think there is much to question on reliability, if it fits what you need go for it.

I looks like they are priced really aggressive correct? it should make it a real good year for Cub overall

Art can you tell me if the new GT2500 and GT 3000 series still retain the cast tranny? Is the chassis guage still 9 gauge on the 3000 series? does the 3235 have the diff lock still?

Cubs web site is off base on a few things...

Thanks

Here is something interesting concerning the 5000 serie

Reviewboard Magazine: "We have to give the MTD Products Cub Cadet 5252 Compact Tractor the 2004 Reviewboard Editor's Choice Award for the best Compact Tractor in its class and of course award it with 3 out of 3 stars! Great job Cub Cadet!"
Here is the link for the full article and pictures.

Hope that helps!!

Ducati )</font>Yes the 2500 series does have the cast tranny and both the 2500 and 3000 series have the 9 guage frames I think at least the 3000 series does.I own a 2523 and the tranny is cast iron, nice tractor!

Too bad they didnt review the 4wd diesel version as well ! I'm sure that would have been even better for a few dollars more!! I'm glad they are getting some good press....
