To my dismay, for my "50 hour service", the dealer changed the HST filter (orange covered one by foot area) and the hydraulic filter (gray one you can see from looking under wheel well), and the engine oil and filter. They didn't change the fuel filter as they told me it was clean. It does appear nice and clean and the fuel doesn't pick up metal debris from running through an HST transmission... so that seems reasonable.
They "topped" off the HST oil instead of changing all 6.6 gallons or whatever... After reading around about metal that gets into the oil, it sounds like they should have changed the HST / hydraulic oil instead of just changing the filters and topping it off...
It shows "lubed chassis" on the invoice and it appears they did hit the zerks (no big deal as I don't mind greasing everything and I'm pretty good about that)
I was charged about $180.00 for the service (I brought the machine to and from dealer myself). I've been reading 50 hr service averages around $400 or perhaps at least $300 and change... I'm not complaining about not spending money, but I'd like what's best for the money I have invested.
Should I take it back and demand they change the HST oil? I really don't want to do it myself as I don't have experience and I have a good setup to get the machine to and from the dealer.
Stuff like this drives me nuts. Service manual says change the HST oil, why didn't they? I guess I'll ask them and see what they say.
