Well I have purchased 10 gallons of Mahindra hydraulic fluid and the hydraulic suction filter and power steering filter. I am preparing to change the fluids and have a couple of questions.

The manual states the power steering comes from the same reservior as the transmission fluid but it appears as if it has a smaller reservior at the pump. Any way to drain that reservior or will it backdrain if I open the fill cap and drain plug under the pto?

Also, any tips for manhandling those 5 gallon buckets with a funnel to refil?

I'm surprised the manual calls for a fluid change at only 50 hrs. On my 2615 only the filter was required changing. Anyway, when I did change my fluid, I bought a bucket pump. I've used it once, and it is sitting ready, gathering dust until the next change at 600 hours. It is the easiest way to handle the 5 gal. bucket fluid transfer.

The power steering fluid is seperate from the transmission and hydraulics. It also has its own filter in the reservoir. The fluid specs are on the side of the reservoir. I think about a gallon of the appropriate fluid should do it. Follow the lines from the reservoir back to the hydraulic pump. You will see that it is actually two pumps in line or stacked together, it is actually a seperate oil system. I changed it myself, the directions are in the owners manual. Let me know how the transmission screen goes, it is a little more difficult so I gave up on it and contacted the dealer. Good luck.

Well I did it this morning. My manual states they use the same fluid. The screen was a bugger to get out but I finally got it. Have to remove the 4 bolts that hold the housing to the tractor and then the 3 that bolt to the pickup for the pump. I was lucky I had some rtv gasket maker because the housing has no gasket, just the silicone stuff from the factory. This was by far the messiest fluid change I have ever done.
