Oil & Fuel 50 Hour Maintenance at 35 Hours

I know one of the main reasons do change the hydraulics at the initial 50 hours is to catch the metal shavings. I've got 35 hours on my JD 2520, and am going to change it now before cold weather sets in. It will not get much work between now and time to plow snow. My next scheduled maintenance interval is 200 hours. Should I change it before then since I am doing the initial change at 35, or is 35 hours enough time to get the majority of the shavings?

i would do the 200 hr work at 200hrs.it wont hurt anything waiting till that time.

IMO do the 200 at 200 . I cut my 50 hr. interval to 40 hr. , just for the reason I had time and weather was nice . I think MF manual says 300 hr. for my next change .

Change it. If any garbage hasn't flushed out in 35 hrs. you're not going to get much more in another 15. Then chage at 200 and you're intervals will be at even 100 hr marks going forward.

Last window of opportunity before winter? Ignore the hours and just do it.

maintenance intervals are guide lines to do the recommend maintenance our equipment require and recommend by the manufacturer. doing it early is not a problem, we all like to have our equipment to perform well, when we want it to. I do my maintenance some what accord to the guide lines but also according to the season and use. We are getting ready for winter and snow plowing, so I have changed to fuel filters, changed the hydraulic filter checked and cleaned the screen, will change the engine oil, grease and lube everything, check the battery and battery terminals, etc. I don't have to accord to the guide lines. But I can be sure my equipment will operate just as it should. there is nothing worst that a breakdown of equipment when you need it.
yes I might spend a little more money on things, I don't need to at that time, but its a good investment in my equipment. so don't be afraid to do things early, and accord to seasonal use.
