There's no mention as to what battery connections/terminals you are using, but without trying to show people how to suck eggs. If you have those battery terminals where the cable is pushed through a small tube, and then two screws are wound in to make a contact. It's a good practice to always make sure there is a flat piece of steel or copper for the screws to push down on, and not to push down on the wire directly. It has been found that if the screws only push down on the wire direct, quite often after a while they sometimes work loose and make a poor contact.

It was a an actual cable. With connections made into it. Likely on the tractor when the ol man bought it. Way to fancy of an item for him to use lol. I expected to find jb weld an a few empty beast light cans cobbled together.

Thanks for the info. Yes in neutral, the button wont press if in gear. I'll try the solenoid and see where that gets me. All good advise. Really appreciate it. Haven't been able to find a battery (reasonably priced) I have literally been waiting on RK to get them in stock for 2 damn years. May have yo break down and spend $200 on a damn batt.

Why would you not recommend going to 12v?

**+There isn't a local battery shop near you?
