With 1700 hours on my 07, figure it is time for a flush and change. Coolant still looks good but I'm sure it owes me nothing.
any words of wisdom? Machine has always run in proper temp range-no issues-winter or summer.

No real words of wisdom from me...I need to do the exact same thing soon.

Piece of cake-just take the loader off. Both drain petcocks in open. And you can speed up the draining process if you blow into the over flow tube that runs down the right side of the radiator. Doesn't take a lot but it does work.

I used Prestone radiator flush and after first flush put second flush in with just water. And like I said, I had 1715 hours. Book says 2 yrs or 2000 hrs-mine is an 07 so it was due but old coolant still looked good and the flush did not show any significant signs of rust.

Did you have to drain the block too?

Yes-l;ike I said-two petcocks one on bottom right side of radiator-facing rear, the block petcock is left front of block-very visible. And I had marked a five gallon pail for 6.7 quarts and I got just about that amount out with drip pans on right and one on left. But had I not blown on that overflow tube it would not have emptied the block as well as it did. Just make sure the radiator cap is on tight.
