Why does manual show the first oil change at 500 hours?

It could be a typo or a misprint. My Kubota manual specified 50 hours.

First is usually 50 hrs and 500 after that.
Also depends on how many hours you put on annually.
Each of mine is lucky to turn 50 a year.
I change it every Fall before they go into hibernation.

I think the safe thing to do is change oil early...not at 500 hours. Any manufacturing trash is flushed this way. Oil is cheap, metal is not...
